About Lesson

Welcome to the Enroll in the Software and/or Services Path in APN segment

Now that you’ve created your APN account, it’s time to align your company with the right Partner Path. This step is critical—it determines how AWS supports you, what benefits you unlock, and how you progress as a partner.

In this module, we’ll help you decide which path—Software or Services—is right for your business, and walk you through how to enroll. If you’re an ISV building a product on AWS, this is where your AWS partnership truly begins to take shape.

Why This Topic Matters

AWS has evolved its Partner Network to offer tailored journeys for different partner types. By enrolling in the correct Partner Path, you ensure your business receives the right technical, sales, and marketing enablement resources. For software partners, this includes the Foundational Technical Review (FTR) and access to Marketplace. For service partners, it unlocks AWS service tiering and go-to-market support.

Choosing the right path now sets the foundation for all future growth, including competencies, co-sell opportunities, and deeper AWS alignment.

Cost Optimization

Issue: Small AWS deployment with little management oversight and a lack of cloud skills internal to the organization moving from traditional infrastructure to SaaS and cloud based solutions.

What we did

  1. AWS Audit
  2. Cost Optimization Review
  3. Ongoing Monitoring

Result:

  • Eliminated unused storage volumes and the old application server no longer in use, the charges for AWS resulted in a savings of 51% per month.
  • We’ll continue to monitor AWS billing and finance to ensure maintenance of savings and identify other future changes.
