About Lesson

Welcome to How to Create an ACE Opportunity

Once your solution is listed and you’ve begun engaging with customers, the next step is to connect your activity to AWS through the ACE Pipeline Manager. Creating an ACE Opportunity is how you formally register your customer engagements with AWS, which is a critical part of the co-sell motion.

In this module, we’ll walk you through how to create and submit opportunities in ACE so that AWS sellers can engage, support, and help you accelerate deals.

Why This Topic Matters

The ACE (APN Customer Engagements) platform is the primary tool AWS uses to manage partner-submitted opportunities. Submitting opportunities in ACE is essential for:

  • Unlocking co-sell support from AWS field teams

  • Tracking deal progress in collaboration with AWS

  • Gaining credit toward APN tier progression and your Partner Scorecard

  • Becoming eligible for AWS funding programs, like Proof of Concept credits

If you’re not using ACE, AWS sellers can’t see your pipeline or help close deals. It’s that simple.

What You’ll Learn

By the end of this module, you’ll be able to:

  • Navigate ACE Pipeline Manager within AWS Partner Central

  • Create and submit a compliant opportunity aligned to your solution

  • Understand key fields like customer details, use case, and engagement type

  • Track status and collaborate with AWS teams on active opportunities

What’s Included

To make this process clear and repeatable, this module includes:

  • A Pipeline Manager User Guide in the exercise files

  • A Quick Guide for ACE Opportunity Submission

  • Step-by-step tips for ensuring your opportunities meet AWS expectations

Key Success Metrics

You’ve completed this module when:

  • You’ve successfully submitted an opportunity in ACE Pipeline Manager

  • The opportunity is tied to a listed solution and shows up in your Partner Scorecard

  • You’ve begun engaging with an AWS field seller to progress the deal

Cost Optimization

Issue: Small AWS deployment with little management oversight and a lack of cloud skills internal to the organization moving from traditional infrastructure to SaaS and cloud based solutions.

What we did

  1. AWS Audit
  2. Cost Optimization Review
  3. Ongoing Monitoring

Result:

  • Eliminated unused storage volumes and the old application server no longer in use, the charges for AWS resulted in a savings of 51% per month.
  • We’ll continue to monitor AWS billing and finance to ensure maintenance of savings and identify other future changes.
